This workshop is designed to provide participants with basic skills in spiritually integrated psychotherapy. We start by defining spiritually integrated therapy and basic competencies in this domain, and then go on to review the challenges of attending to spirituality in counseling. The large part of the workshop focuses on: (1) a framework for conceptualizing and evaluating spirituality in the life of the client; (2) a multi-level model of spiritual assessment, and; (3) illustrations of the ways practitioners can help clients draw upon spiritual resources and address spiritual problems to facilitate their health and well-being. The workshop draws upon case examples, research studies, video clips, and group discussion.
